Planning to wear kimono for a special occasion — a wedding, your child's Shichi-Go-San, Coming-of-Age Day, a party, or a celebratory dinner?

HARAJUKU KIMONO HOUSE offers professional kimono dressing in the Omotesando and Harajuku area.

We're conveniently located near Harajuku, Meiji-Jingumae, and Omotesando stations. In addition to kimono rental, we also dress customers in kimono they bring themselves.

"I own a kimono, but I can't put it on by myself."
"I'd like to wear a homongi to a wedding."
"I want to wear the furisode handed down from my mother or grandmother."
"I'd like to wear kimono together with my child for Shichi-Go-San."

We're happy to help with all of these.

A Kimono Shop with Dressing Services in Omotesando & Harajuku

With many wedding venues, restaurants, and event spaces nearby, Omotesando and Harajuku offer more occasions to wear kimono than you might expect.

At HARAJUKU KIMONO HOUSE, we offer not only kimono rental for sightseeing, but also authentic, formal kimono dressing for Japanese customers.

Your dressing is handled by experienced staff, including a nationally certified first-class kimono dresser.

We dress you so your kimono stays neat and looks beautiful, while keeping you as comfortable as possible even on long days.

Homongi Dressing

The homongi is a versatile formal kimono, suitable for weddings, Shichi-Go-San, Omiyamairi (a baby's first shrine visit), school entrance and graduation ceremonies, formal dinners, and more.

We offer homongi rental, dressing, and hair styling.

If you don't own a kimono, you can choose a homongi from our in-store collection.

If you have your own homongi, we're happy to dress you in it.

Furisode & Coming-of-Age Day Dressing

We also provide furisode dressing for Coming-of-Age Day, weddings, commemorative photos, and more.

You're welcome to bring a furisode passed down from your mother or family — known as a "mama furisode."

"I have a furisode, but I'm missing some accessories."
"I'd like to give it a more modern look."

In cases like these, we can also help with accessories such as obijime (obi cord), obiage (obi scarf), and kasane-eri (layered collar).

For furisode rental and bring-your-own dressing for Coming-of-Age Day, please also see our Coming-of-Age Day plan page.

Dressing for Kimono You Bring

If you have a complete kimono set, you can book dressing only, without a rental.

We'll prepare you according to the type of kimono — homongi, furisode, and more — and the occasion.

If you're not sure whether you have all the necessary accessories, feel free to ask us in advance.

Depending on the item, some missing accessories are available to rent.

Dressing for Mothers at Shichi-Go-San

For Shichi-Go-San, many families have the mother wear a homongi alongside the children for the shrine visit.

We can dress both your child in their Shichi-Go-San kimono and you in a homongi at the same time.

Meiji Jingu Shrine is easy to reach from Harajuku, so your family can head straight there for your Shichi-Go-San visit once you're ready.

Hair Styling & Makeup, Too

Beyond dressing, we also offer hair styling and makeup designed to suit Japanese attire.

We can prepare your complete look to match your kimono — whether homongi or furisode — and the occasion.

Balancing your kimono, obi, and hairstyle as a whole creates a beautiful look that photographs wonderfully, too.
